Trigger Points
- After having a slip in water that caused lower back pain, I went to the doctor and after MRIs and nerve tests were performed I was told I had trigger points (like knots) in the muscles of my back. With physical therapy and much de-stressing my back is sooo much better and I have returned to being my normal self. It took about a year! We need to be very careful that we don't overbook ourselves and learn to take things in stride.

"It's NOT A Tumor!"
- When I was in college, I was working really hard: two jobs, two internships, and a full load of classes. One day, I got a huge wake-up call in the form of a tumor! Though the tumor was benign, and caused by something other than stress, I was sure the stress didn't help. More than that, I realized that I was running myself into the ground, and taking a more relaxed schedule (one that could actually accomodate me taking care of myself!) was somewhat do-able. Though I'm still a go-getter, I've been more balanced since then.

Crying
- When I was so stressed over dealing with my kids that I was acting too much like one--yelling, crying, etc.--I knew I needed a better plan for managing stress. Just getting enough sleep makes a huge difference!
