New Social Media Resources From About.com Stress Management

I've had many readers find an article through search, and stumble onto this blog from there, surprised at how many stress management resources stress.about.com has to offer. This isn't surprising, considering I have been creating content for this site since 2005, and cover topics ranging from happiness, optimism, and letting go of stress, to the effects of stress, causes of stress, and dealing with difficult people. There is so much to explore on this site that people often miss quite a bit, and find that they can't take it all in at once.

If you've found yourself in this position as well, don't worry; covering such a vast amount of information in one sitting (or over the course of several days or weeks, even) would be counter-productive anyway. It's more effective to take in the information piece by piece, think about it, and incorporate it into your life as you comfortably can--not all at once. The Stress Management Newsletter has been a great tool for this, as have the free e-courses this site has to offer, and now we have a new tool for social media fans.

To find all of the latest blogs and updates, plus a steady and timely stream of stress management resources in one convenient place, About.com has created a new Facebook page: About.com Stress Management! You'll find the best of what this site has to offer:

  • Recent Blogs
  • Timely Blogs
  • Classic Blogs
  • Newsletters
  • Free Quizzes
  • Free E-Courses
  • Inspirational Quotes
  • Opportunities To Share Your Comments
The benefit of "liking" the Faceook page is that you can get a steady stream of roughly one stress resource per day in the convenience of your own Facebook Wall. This can help you relieve stress in a way that is not overwhelming: a little bit at a time, without drastically changing your life too quickly.

Another benefit of the Facebook page is that you can share resources with your friends who may benefit as well, and get conversations going. You can also participate in conversations on the original thread. On some of my other social media pages, I've found that the comments can often add quite a bit. We'd love to hear from you, too!

For those who prefer the Twitter format, you can get many of the same resources on the new About.com Twitter Page, as well as RTs and a more robust group of postings. This is a great way to incorporate stress management information conveniently into your life. (And I generally follow back.)

I hope to see you there!

Note: For those who are already connected with the About Stress Management Facebook Page that I have been running, or are following me on Twitter, these pages won't change; the new pages will simply offer new resources that you can use to complement what you are getting there!

The very most important step to control your stress is to organize your daily life, and budget your time. Set a time table and work according to that time table.
