Sometimes a good laugh can suck the tension right out of us. A well-timed laugh can turn a stressful, frustrating situation into a stress release or a good story for later. Do you have a strategy for getting a good laugh when you're feeling stressed? Have there been any times that you've decided to laugh instead of crying, and have found yourself feeling much better because of it? Share your funny (or sad) stories, and your tips on turing a stressful situation into a trigger for a good laugh. Share Your Experiences!

Long term Relation of marriage

Our 58th Anniversay was the 18th of August. We were High School Sweethearts and we are still Sweethearts. I feel that communication and a sense of humor helps a couple get though the tough times. And never holding a grude for something that was said in the heat of anger. Most of the time the stress comes from outside of the relationship. Being able to always be honest with each other. Trust is a must. We are older now and laugh a lot after an arguement because we often can't remember what started it. I realize it takes time to build the trust we have. And a good marriage takes hard work from both. Children can cause a large amount of stress if you allow them to. You must remember they will leave someday and you will still be together. So don't ever neglect your partner by putting the children ahead of them. Communication means being able to tell your partner what you need from them. Quiet time together, a hug, or a laugh. Illness is stressful that takes devotion to your partner. Thanks

I Love Lucy

Sometimes when I'm feeling stressed, I think of the old show 'I Love Lucy'. She would get herself into heaps of trouble, and it was hilarious to most people. Sometimes when I feel the stress of a situation getting to me, I imagine I'm in black and white with a laugh track, and sometimes the absurdity of the situation can make me laugh.

Skirtless Sis

One of my best embarrassing stories actually belongs to my sister. When we were children, she told me of a time when she was wearing an elastic-waisted skirt, and had crouched down to pick something up. Right before she stood up again, someone walked by and inadvertently stood on her skirt, ensuring that it stayed down on the floor as she stood up. As she told me of the embarrassment of standing there in her underwear in the middle of a roomful of people, with tears of laughter as she told the story, I realized that the more embarrassing an event, the better the story it might make later. That story greatly lessened my embarrassment of most things in life.
