Definition: Psychologists typically have a Ph.D (Doctor of Philosophy degree in Psychology) or a Psy.D. (Doctor of Psychology degree) and are trained in assessment and diagnostic treatment of the full range of psychological disorders. They cannot prescribe medication, but can perform other types of therapeutic intervention.
