--Mindfulness Therapy: A recent review of nearly 40 studies on the effectiveness of mindfulness therapy in treating anxiety and depression shows that it is, in fact, quite helpful. There are many different ways to use mindfulness: you can enroll in a mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) program, which is clinically proven to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, as well as stress and other physical problems. You can also consult a wellness coach who specializes in mindfulness training. If you have clinical depression or an anxiety disorder, you may want to see a therapist, who can help you use mindfulness therapy and monitor your progress in a more clinical capacity. For feelings of anxiety and depression that aren't strong enough to warrant a clinical diagnosis, you can try mindfulness-based approaches on your own. Here are some
mindfulness exercises for stress relief.
