Guide Review - My Weight Loss Coach for the Nintendo DS
The game, obviously, is primarily geared toward weight loss, and I believe that it's a great tool for that. As I mentioned above, it comes with with its own DS-compatible pedometer, so you can go walking and then download the number of steps you took into your DS to be recorded on the game. My Weight Loss Coach tracks your progress, which helps with motivation. It also provides you with specific, simple steps you can take toward your goals -- drinking water, walking for a few minutes -- and encourages you to take those steps right then, if possible (but allows you to do them later, too). It educates and motivates, and holds your hand along the way.
While it can be a good fitness tool, I see My Weight Loss Coach as a good stress management tool as well, for the following reason:
- Exercise and Nutrition: As I've written before, exercise and good nutrition can lead to reduced stress. A program that promotes both can be great for your stress levels.
- Simple Steps: Sometimes people know what they should be doing, but aren't sure how to get to "there" from "here." Simple, specific steps toward healthier habits are the way to go.
- Ongoing Support: It's easy to lose motivation when making lifestyle changes. Having ongoing support can be a big help, whether you're looking to lose weight, relive stress, or both.
