Parenting Classes:
Many communities offer parent education classes at local community colleges. Parenting classes can be a great way for moms to meet other mothers with children of similar ages, find social support, and get some great information at the same time. They also offer children a wonderful opportunity to socialize.
[How-To Books:
While not as hands-on and interactive as parenting classes, there are some fabulous parenting books out there to help mothers learn everything from child development to child psychology. You can read a book on any topic that challenges youall in the convenience and privacy of your home.
Talk to Teachers:
Teachers, with all their experience in behavior management, usually have a collection of effective tricks up their sleeve. If youre able to discuss questions that you have with a teacher, you may find some excellent and creative ideas you may not have otherwise considered.
Look Online:
There are some excellent educational resources that you can find online. (And you're obviously no stranger to this route of information gathering!) For some great free help with parenting, visit sites like About.com's Parenting Channel and you'll find information and suuport.
Get Help:
If you think you may be dealing with some more serious issues, you may want to talk to a child psychologist or family therapist. Talk to your pediatrician about a referral.
