These days it pays to find cheap gift ideas that pack a punch -- gifts that will be used regularly, can bring stress relief, may be enjoyed by your recipient and their loved ones, and aren't necessarily something that your loved ones would buy for themselves.  Aromatherapy works:it can be great as an individual gift, grouped to form larger gifts, or included as part of a thoughtful gift basket. Aromatherapy aids in meditation and overall home relaxation. The following are a range of aromatherapy products that can be used as stress relieving cheap gifts for holidays, birthdays, anniversaries or any occasion.

1. Earth Solutions Aromatherapy Stay Alert Scent Inhaler

This is a great little inhaler that can be carried in a purse or kept in a desk drawer, ready for use when you need a little pick-me-up. It contains peppermint(for mental alertness), rosemary (for clarity and awareness), cedarwood (for its stimulant properties) and eucalyptus (for oxygenation and breathing), all pure essential oils. This makes a great small gift for anyone, or a reward for a job well done.

2. Aura Cacia Aromatherapy Body Oil Lavender Harvest -- 4 fl oz

Lavender aromatherapy has been shown to have calming effects and can relieve stress in several ways. (Read the research here.) It's a great choice for anyone trying to relax for sleep or feel more calm and relaxed during the day. This bottle of 100% pure essential oil can be put into a diffuser to relax the room (especially when company comes over), and makes a great gift for stressed parents, practitioners of meditation, or can be a great gift for yourself.

3. Aura Cacia Spearmint Essential Oil - .5 Ounces Liquid

Peppermint aromatherapy can wake up the mind (read the research here) and can help with stress by adding a bit of extra energy for tasks that need to be done, or for a subtle pick-me-up. I use this essential oil all the time, and in a few different ways: I put it in a diffuser to scent a room (especially when we all need to wake up), I put a few drops in my sons' foot baths (this was an idea from our baby sitter--'spa night' can be a great way to calm kids down!), or sometimes I put a tiny bit behind my ears or on my neck, so I can smell it and stay energized for the next few hours.

This bottle of spearmint essential oil is 100% pure, and would make a great stocking stuffer, hostess gift, or other small gift for yourself or a loved one.

4. Aromatherapy Associates De-Stress Mind, Bath & Shower Oil

This set of shower oils contains wild chamomile, petitgrain, frankincense and rosemary designed to ease emotional stress, clear the mind and gently rebalance the body. What I like about this product is that it's somewhat high-end (so it's a really nice gift), can be used daily to relieve stress in the morning or before bed, and lasts quite a while.

5. Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy Eucalyptus Spearmint 4 Piece Gift Set.

This set includes a 4-oz spray of Stress Relief Body Mist, 4 fluid ounces of Body Lotion, Body Wash and Foam Bath in a cute gift basket. This is great for people who need to pull themselves out of feelings of overwhelm with some gentle self-care, and makes a wonderful gift.

6. Pure and Natural Aromatherapy Candles

This is a great gift set for anyone who wants to relieve stress, but especially for hostess-types who love to have relaxing surroundings. Lavender is a soothing scent that's been prove to relieve stress, and citrus scents can be a refreshing; this basket contains - lavender, lemongrass & orange, and tangerine & lavender, all great for stress relief. These candles are made with 100% pure essential oils, and have a total of 72 hours of burn time. They're great for the holidays, birthdays, or as congratulatory gifts.
