Thoughts and Prayers For The Colorado Shooting Victims And Their Families

There are no words to adequately describe the shock and horror that I feel about the recent random shooting in Colorado. While I do not want to focus too much attention on the alleged shooter, my thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families--innocent people whose lives will be forever changed by this tragedy.

As we all attempt to make sense of a senseless act, many of us are grappling with strong emotions ourselves. While we were not directly involved, many of us may feel deeply affected by this random act of violence, as many are often affected by such events. Why might we feel so hard-hit by something that has happened to people who are strangers to most of us? This article explains why these tragedies leave many of us reeling, and how we can cope with the feelings we are feeling.

Again, my sympathy and prayers lie with the families of each of the victims, and I feel deep gratitude for the heroes who helped others escape from this horrible situation. In the darkness of this, I am again reminded that each of us touches the lives of others, and each of us can make a difference in the time we have here. These people will be missed.
