Help Others, Help Yourself

Tuesday October 30, 2007
Helping others feels good, doesn't it? It's actually good for you as well! Research shows that helping others is connected with higher levels of mental health, which means what many people have intuitively known all along: by helping others, you help yourself.

With this in mind, I discovered a great site I'd like to recommend to you for a few reasons: it's called FreeRice.com. The idea behind it is that they help you sharpen your vocabularly (by testing you on the definitions of SAT-like words), and you help them send rice to starving people around the world (with advertiser money you generate from clicking the pages). It's simple, fun and altruistic, apparently with no strings attached. Just don't spend all day there...
