Stress Management for Newbies

Many people would like to get involved in stress management, but don't know where to begin. With all the information and tools out there, where does one start on the journey toward a more peaceful state of mind? The best way to start is to learn the basics of stress management, and assess your lifestyle to see what areas of your life are causing you the greatest levels of stress. Then, it's important to learn a few techniques that can relieve tension fairly quickly (like breathing exercises and PMR) to help you deal with everyday stressors like test anxiety or other pressures you face in your life. Finally, adopting some regular healthy and stress-reducing habits, like meditation, yoga, exercise, and good nutrition, can reduce your overall stress level and help you become less reactive to stress you do experience. For help with this process, try my Stress Management Game Plan.
